More Masks, Less COVID
COVID is not over. Long COVID is a real and not uncommon affliction months after infection, including in children. As of February 2023, the USA has a COVID death count that is equivalent to one “9/11 attack weekly.” Canada’s deaths have similarly plateaued at a high rate.
There is no one “bullet-proof” protection, only layers. High-quality masks are one of those layers, a proven preventive strategy to prevent adults and children from getting or transmitting COVID-19 indoors or in crowds.
Don’t let your work, studies and fun get interrupted by COVID. Wear a mask, make others feel good about mask-wearing, advocate for making it the rule or norm in your places of work or study, until the pandemic is truly over— and in 2023, the pandemic is not over.
